Understanding FACTORFIVE Skincare Accounts: Wholesale vs. Professional

Professional or Wholesale? FACTORFIVE Skincare accounts give you the right products, pricing, and support—whether you focus on treatments or want to grow retail sales.

At FACTORFIVE Skincare, we offer two distinct account types designed to meet the needs of businesses and licensed professionals: Wholesale Accounts and Professional Accounts. Choosing the right account ensures you have access to the products, pricing, and resources that best support your business model today—and where you want your business to grow next.

Below is a clear breakdown to help you decide which account is right for you.

Wholesale Accounts: Designed for Resellers and Growing Businesses

Who It’s For:

Businesses that want to resell FACTORFIVE products to consumers, including, but not limited to: medical spas, solo estheticians, day spa/salons, dermatology offices, and plastic surgery practices.

Product Access:

Full access to retail products and professional-use treatment products, allowing you to support both in-treatment results and at-home care.

Resale Rights:

Yes! Wholesale accounts are authorized to sell products in-store and online.

Pricing:

Wholesale pricing includes volume discounts, eligibility for promotions, and access to exclusive wholesale offers. Buying in bulk often results in greater savings per unit, improving margins over time.

Order Limits:

No overall order cap. Minimums apply per retail item (3 units).

Sales Tax & Documentation:

Wholesale accounts must submit a state-issued resale certificate (seller’s permit, sales tax license) to certify tax-exempt use. Tax rules vary by state, so please confirm your documentation is current. If your state does not have sales tax, please confirm with your state what is needed for out-of-state purchases.

Account Requirements:

  • Business license/registration number

  • Copy of reseller permit

  • Professional skincare license number or NPI

  • Copy of active license, certificate, or professional ID. Acceptable documents include:

    • Esthetician or cosmetologist license

    • NPI certificate

    • RN, MD, NP, or PA license

    • Diploma (Puerto Rico)

    • Business license

Why Choose Wholesale:

If your goal is to sell FACTORFIVE products directly to consumers, a wholesale account gives you full product access (retail and professional treatments), the ability to resell, and pricing designed for profit.

Wholesale accounts are ideal for businesses looking to expand beyond the treatment room. Retail allows you to:

  • Provide proper aftercare that supports healing and enhances results

  • Extend the impact of professional treatments into the client’s daily routine

  • Create an additional revenue stream outside of appointment time

Better results lead to stronger client trust, improved retention, repeat visits, and referrals. Over time, retail becomes a powerful tool for both client outcomes and business growth.

Professional Accounts: Designed for Licensed Practitioners Focused on Treatments

Who It’s For:

Licensed estheticians, clinicians, and professionals who use FACTORFIVE products exclusively for treatments and do not resell products.

Product Access:

Limited to professional-use and treatment-only sizes. Retail-only items like Night Retinol Cream, Lash/Brow Growth Serum, Shampoo Advanced Haircare, and retail mini sizes are not included.

Resale Rights:

Products may not be resold under a professional account.

Pricing:

Professional-use pricing with limited promotions.

Order Limits:

Restricted quantities per order (max 3 per SKU, 1 of each sample pack). Retail-only items are not available.

Sales Tax & Documentation:

Most professional-use purchases are not tax-exempt, unless your business qualifies (e.g., nonprofit, exempt medical facility, government agency, or located in a state without sales tax).

Account Requirements:

  • Professional skincare license number or NPI

  • Copy of active license, certificate, or professional ID. Acceptable documents include:

    • Esthetician or cosmetologist license

    • NPI certificate

    • RN, MD, NP, or PA license

    • Diploma (Puerto Rico)

    • Business license

Why Choose Professional:

Professional accounts are well-suited for practitioners who are focused on performing services and need access to treatment essentials without managing retail inventory.

What Does Not Count for Account Requirements?

To make sure your account setup goes smoothly, here’s a quick list of documents or credentials that do not satisfy FACTORFIVE Skincare account requirements for either Wholesale or Professional accounts:

  • Expired licenses – active, valid licenses are required

  • Unofficial or specialty certifications – examples include Fibroblast, lash/brow extensions, makeup artistry, or non-licensed training certificates

  • Employer EINs or Tax IDs – these alone do not qualify; a business license or resale certificate is required for Wholesale

  • Student or trainee credentials – accounts must be held by fully licensed professionals

  • Partial documentation – incomplete copies of licenses, certificates, or permits will not be accepted

Tax and Resale Considerations

Starting Professional, Growing Into Wholesale

It’s common to begin with a Professional Account and later switch to Wholesale as your business evolves. You may consider transitioning when:

  • Clients ask where they can purchase the products you use in treatment

  • You want to offer structured post-treatment aftercare and home regimens (after all, results = 20% professional treatments + 80% home care!)

  • You’re ready to take advantage of bulk savings and wholesale promotions

  • You want to increase revenue without increasing service hours

There’s no one-size-fits-all timeline. The right account is the one that supports your current goals—and your future plans.

Not Sure Which Account Fits Your Needs?

It’s common to be unsure about which account type is best for your business. Here’s how to get clarity:

  • Talk to your dedicated FACTORFIVE sales representative – they can help you evaluate your business model and goals.

  • Contact our accounts team at accounts@factorfiveskin.com for questions about switching accounts, updating documentation, or confirming tax requirements.
